Are all breast implants unsafe? Removal of unsafe breast implants.
A friend of mine had some breast implants fitted some time ago, and with all the scare stories going around at the moment, she was naturally worried.
She made an appointment to see her local GP who in turn referred her to a specialist surgeon, who gave her a thorough medical examination. It turned out she did not have the sub standard silicone implants fitted.
So if you have had silicone breast implants fitted, what should you do? Well I would seriously suggest you go and talk to your Doctor. They can then suggest what course of action you should take, if any.
So are all breast implants unsafe? It would seem not. Provided you only deal with a reputable medical group in the beginning. So how do you find a reputable breast surgery clinic? Well your own Doctor should be able to give you a referral, to only reputable and fully insured clinics.
Removal of unsafe breast implants: If you think this may apply to you, you certainly should seek medical advice straight away.

From time to time I do get a little sore on my gum, and in the past I have used Adcortyl paste, and I have found this cures the problem pretty quickly. I was rather upset and annoyed to find out it is no longer available
Adcortyl in orabase for mouth ulcers (discontinued in the UK – August 2009)

Adcortyl in orabase for mouth ulcers, is a paste that you used to be able to buy from pharmacies for treating common mouth ulcers. It contains the active ingredient triamcinolone, in a paste that will stick to the wet surfaces of the mouth and form a protective film over the ulcer.
Triamcinolone is a type of medicine called a corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are medicines used for reducing inflammation. Inflammation and ulcers in the mouth can occur as a result of irritation or trauma to the tongue or the soft tissues lining the mouth. The inflammation is caused by the release of various substances that are important in the immune system. These substances cause blood vessels to widen, resulting in the affected area becoming red, swollen and painful.
When this medicine is applied onto a mouth ulcer, the Triamcinolone is absorbed into the cells in that area. It works by acting within these cells to decrease the release of the inflammatory substances. This reduces swelling, redness and pain.
Adcortyl in orabase for mouth ulcers should be applied to the affected area two to three times daily, preferably after meals, and at bedtime. Dry the affected area before applying the paste in a thin layer with a clean finger. The paste should not be rubbed in.
What is a good alternative? Give Orabase Protective Paste a try, it just might work for you!

I was told Orabase Protective Paste is supposed to be a good alternative! Orabase Protective Paste can be used to treat Mouth Ulcers, and is formulated to adhere to mucous membrane and raw weeping areas and it protects and covers raw mouth ulcers. I have just tried this, and while it does offer a good amount of relief, it is not as good as the original. But it certainly does help..
BT Really Is Annoying Me With Their Cold Calling

British Telecom really are getting on my nerves now! They keep ringing my telephone and asking to speak to me, and then going into a boring sales pitch. They keep ringing me and saying, you are in luck we have a special offer on broadband. Its either that or asking me, would I like to take part in a quick survey. A quick note to BT: STOP RINGING MY PHONE, YOU ARE A NUISANCE ! I do not like sales people calling my private land line, and I certainly do not like sales people calling me in my own personal time. I get fed up wasting my time with these pain in the backside cold callers. I did send them quick email to complain about this problem. Maureen rang me and gave me her sincere apologies, she says she has told the relevant sales team to stop contacting me. She says it could take about three weeks to filter through to all the sales teams. I just hope she indeed does sort this problem out for me!
UPDATE: Who to complain to about BT Cold callers, and other nuisance sales people?

Diverse Road Safety, Driving Lessons For Drivers With Disabilities
My partner Kathy passed her theory driving test last week, we then searched for ages for a driving instructor. The reason we had to search hard, was because we needed an instructor who had an automatic car, one that was fitted with hand controls. In short, a car suitable for a person with a disability. We searched for ages on the internet, and then we found one that we liked the sound of, and that was Diverse Road Safety. They came out and had a long chat with us, they are really nice people. So if you are learning to drive with a disability, and you are in or around the Liverpool area, then check out these guys. To find out more about them read more go to their website . *

Removing A Tyre From A Shoprider Cadiz Mobility Scooter

My partner got a puncture on her Shoprider mobility scooter, I thought this would be fixed by simply removing the tyre with a tyre lever to get at the inner tube ! But this is not the case, I just could not remove the tyre from the rim. I thought I would have needed a very large tyre lever, this was until a friend told me that the Shoprider Cadiz Mobility scooter has split rims !
. . . .
So how do you mend a puncture / remove a tyre / remove a wheel on the mobility scooter ? Firstly loosen the center bolt on the wheel while it is still on the ground. Then place something under the side of the scooter to be worked on. Raise the scooter off the ground and remove the center bolt, the wheel will then come away from the scooter. Then with the whole wheel off the scooter, simply undo the four bolts on the rear of the wheel and the wheel will then seperate into two parts. You can then get on with the job of mending the puncture. Now if you have managed to remove the wheel and inner tube, you should be able to refit it all back together again.
Liverpool Passport Office Old Hall Street

After booking our holidays in the Isle Of Man for the Darts Tournament, I realised my passport had recently expired !* So in a mad panic I had to organise a new passport, and this was using the Passport Fast Track Service ! This service cost me £112.50 ( at time of writing 24 feb 2011) and this was using their one week service. This guaranteed that I would get my passport within one week, I was told I would infact get it in five days, and this would be sent by their very own courier service. I must admit I really did find the passport staff very helpful, and ever so polite. They dealt with my application in a very efficient and courteous manner. There is a car park located near by and some parking meters also. To find out their opening times, simply give them a ring. The Passport Office Telephone number is 0300 222 0000. Just give them a ring, and they should be able to help you. So how long does the Passport Fast Track Service take ? In my experience, pretty quick! * Do you need a passport to visit the Isle of Man? Answer. No! The Isle of Man is part of the common travel area for the UK. So there is no need to carry a passport if you are coming from the UK, Republic of Ireland or the Channel Islands. But many airlines do require passengers to show photo ID before boarding planes. I could not find my driving licence and my passport was out, that is the only reason I did bother to re new my passport. Otherwise I would have simply used my driving licence.
Churchill Car Insurance
I have been with Churchill insurance for a good few years now, and I have never put any claims in. So why do my insurance renewals keep getting too pricey each year ? They keep saying the same excuse each time I query the cost of the renewal !
In 2008 I paid £162 and this was for fully comprehensive insurance, used for social domestic and pleasure purposes. In 2009 I upgraded my insurance to cover business use also, and this cost me £240. In 2010 the exact same fully comp with business use jumped up to £337 ! Then in 2011 it jumped up to a whopping £426 !
I certainly was not prepared to pay this higher price for business use ! So I simply dropped my cover, and I stopped using my car for business use ! Churchill Insurance are now charging me £295 for fully comp with just basic social domestic and pleasure use !
Before I renew my cover next time with Churchill Insurance, I will most certainly shop around long and hard ! I really do not think they are giving me a fair deal ! Well I have been with them for bloody years and I have never made a claim, and I also have full no claims bonus ! I live in a very low crime rate area, with a sensible insurance group 1 car. So why am I paying so much to Churchill for cover?
If your insurance is getting too expensive, then maybe it's time to start looking around for another insurance company !
Citroen C1 Boot Lock Sticking Problems

I have owned my Citroen C1 for a little over three years now, and in that time it has been a great little car without any major problems. The little niggles I have been experiencing however, is the locks on the doors and boot, getting a little sticky from time to time. I have usually managed to rectify this, simply by spraying with WD 40, and a little bit of wiggling the key in the locks ! Most of the time this does the trick, but in the last couple of days, the boot has refused to unlock ! I have sprayed the inside of the lock with loads of WD 40, but it refuses to unlock ! I have found you can open the boot from inside the car, just simply flick a little catch near the boot striker panel !
Another little niggle is the drivers window gets a little stiff, it can be a pain when the window is fully wound down. The problem is that the window is a little stiff to wind back up ! I have found that spraying the glass with WD 40 does help a little, I do keep meaning to investigate further, but I never seem to have the time.
